Social Media - Coupons to Drive ROI

One way Social Media can help drive sales is through the distribution of coupons.

Through sites like Merchant Circle and Foursquare it is easy to create coupons that can be distributed through other channels like Facebook and Twitter.

How this works is by setting up a Merchant Circle account and then using their coupon wizard to create your coupon. Once created a unique URL is created that will allow for distribution of that coupon.

The link is then posted or distributed through the Social Media channel of your choice.

It is then easy to track the effectiveness and the ROI of through redemption of that coupon.

Social Media provides valuable ways to track ROI. Couponing is just one of them.

Social Media - Every Customer is a Mystery Shopper

There used to be a day when a retailer or franchise owners most important customer was the "Mystery Shopper". A shopper paid by the company to come in and shop and then review the service. After the 'shop' a report was sent that detailed the high's and the low's of visit to the owners and manager. No one else ever saw that report.

With Social Media today every customer is a mystery shopper. The tools are in place to allow any customer at any time can tell the world about their visit. As this review shows:

But with Foursquare, Yelp, Merchant Circle, Google Places and many others - business reviews are easy to post and easy for other customers to find. Social Media changes the way you do business at your physical location, because Social Media makes it easy for people to talk about you.

Social Media - Do you need it?

One question that comes up in conversation about Social Media is: "Does my business need a Social Media presence?"

The best answer is this: "Do you have contact with people in your business? If you do there are ways to use Social Media to help you."

Because Social Media allows you to maintain permission based communication, your customers give you their permission to talk to them, it is a valuable tool for everyone.

People like experts, they like to know that they know where they can get answers. When they have questions about; dentistry, kitchen counter tops, real estate or snow blowers, they want to be able to go a source of information they trust. Social Media is the tool you can use to establish that trust and the channel to communicate.

Do you have a product or brand worth talking about? Are you a Purple Cow in your industry or community? Then Social Media gives your customers the tools to talk about you. To spread the word and be your biggest evangelists.
