Social Media - Takes Daily Work

To have a successful Social Media presence, takes effort.

Each and everyday you must be engaging in the conversation. Either writing your own information or commenting on others.

This takes time and effort on your part.

I recommend you start by setting aside 30 min to either write your own post or to use a search service like Google Blogs, to find related material. Then post your own post or make a comment. If you make a comment, use that as an opportunity to post a link to your blog or site as well. No pitch, just a link.

Do a little each day and you will soon see results from your work.

Social Media - Print Advertising Can Be Social Media

Any business or organization that has a Social Media presence and they do print advertising has a great opportunity to enhance both campaigns.

Every print ad, every piece of printed material needs to have a reference to their Social Media presences.

Find us on Facebook! Follow us on Twitter!

Like's and follower's can be a new form of ROI tracking for print.

Let's say you ran a sale ad in the newspaper for one particular Saturday. The sales increased 10% for the Sunday sale. But the add was tagged as well and you got 17 like's and 19 followers. Doesn't that enhance the value of the ad that was run?

Everything printed needs a connection to a Social Media presence.

Social Media - Location Based Social Networking

If you arent aware Social Media has a new player in town. Location Based Social Networking. Foursquare seems to be the service that is getting the most traction. With 2 million users and 20,000 signing up every day.

Whole Foods just announced that it has entered into an agreement to add Foursquare window decals to their stores.

Location Based Social Networkings biggest benefit to business is its ability to serve as a loyalty program. As people "check in" that information is tracked and can be used to send rewards to the user.

LBSN are the modern equivalent of the old coffee punch card. As a bonus the business gets to know all the demographic and shopping patterns of the user. That's powerful stuff.
